Salvage for Development Initiative (SDI) Calls for State Police to Tackle Rising Insecurity in Nigeri
Lagos, Nigeria – The Salvage for Development Initiative (SDI) is sounding the alarm on the escalating insecurity in Nigeria, with kidnappings, banditry, and terrorist attacks claiming lives and disrupting economic activities across the country.
Given the current situation, SDI strongly urges the federal government to support the creation of State Police. This move will enable states to take ownership of their security, respond quickly to threats, and complement federal efforts to restore peace and stability.
State Police will:
Enhance local intelligence gathering and response
– Improve community policing and trust
– Reduce response times to emergencies
– Create jobs and boost local economies
We call on lawmakers to expedite the passage of the State Police bill and for the federal government to provide the necessary support for its implementation.
Together, we can make Nigeria safer and more prosperous.
Signed,
Salvage for Development Initiative (SDI)
