Lafia, Nasarawa State – Governor Abdullahi Sule has officially sworn in Mr. Labaran Magaji as the new Secretary to the State Government (SSG), urging him to give his best in service to the state.
Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony in Lafia on Friday, Governor Sule expressed confidence in Magaji’s ability to drive his administration’s development agenda.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Magaji previously served as Nasarawa State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice.
Describing the SSG’s office as the engine room of government, Sule emphasized the need for a leader with extensive governance knowledge.
> “Dr. Labaran Magaji is a legal luminary, a reputable technocrat with global experience, and an unassuming politician who has served Nasarawa and Nigeria in various capacities,” the governor stated.
He commended Magaji’s past contributions to the administration and Project Nasarawa, highlighting his loyalty and excellence as key qualities for the role.
Governor Sule also expressed gratitude to the former SSG, Mr. Aliyu Ubandoma, and past executive council members for their dedication to the state.
In his acceptance speech, Magaji assured Governor Sule of his loyalty and readiness to deliver on the administration’s goals.
> “This is the most critical moment of your administration—what we call the legacy period. We are ready to hit the ground running to ensure Nasarawa State is better than you met it,” he pledged.
Magaji’s appointment is expected to strengthen the state’s governance structure as the administration enters a key phase of development.
