The Federal Polytechnic, Offa, Kwara State, is set to host the 22nd edition of the Nigeria Polytechnic Games (NIPOGA), tagged “IJAKADI 2024,” marking the first time the institution will stage the prestigious sporting event in its 33-year history.
Speaking to journalists on Monday at the institution’s campus in Offa, the Rector, Engr. Kamoru Kadiri, announced that the games will take place from April 2nd to April 12th, 2025. He stated that the competition will be held across both campuses of the polytechnic, with student-athletes from approximately 50 polytechnics nationwide expected to participate.
Kadiri highlighted that the athletes will compete for medals in various sports, including badminton, basketball, chess, tennis, athletics, football, handball, judo, scrabble, taekwondo, and volleyball. He further assured that upgraded sporting facilities and equipment, along with a state-of-the-art multi-purpose sports complex, are ready for the event.
Expressing his vision for the games, Kadiri emphasized the institution’s commitment to setting a new standard in participation, officiating, sportsmanship, friendship, inclusiveness, and social cohesion. He noted that the Federal Polytechnic, Offa, is determined to deliver a memorable and impactful NIPOGA experience.
