COVID-19: LASG To Rescue Stranded Nigerian Students At Seme Border

The Commissioner for Health, Lagos State, Prof. Akin Abayomi, has revealed that the state government has deployed dispatch to rescue stranded Nigerians at Seme border.

According to the commissioner, many students are trying to enter the country via the land borders since airlines stopped operations.

The Commissioner made this known at a briefing on Friday, he said that 16 students were at Seme border and had been stopped from entering Nigeria.

He assured that the situation was under control as a dispatch had been sent to pick the students and take them to an isolation centre.

“As we speak, 16 Nigerian students are trying to return to the country. We have sent a dispatch to bring them to one of our isolation centre.

“We don’t have much details but the situation is under control. We will bring them to a facility to determine their risk level,” Abayomi said.
