upA tragic fire outbreak in Kaura Namoda town, located in Kaura Namoda Local Government Area of Zamfara, has resulted in the death of 17 Almajiri students.

The incident, which occurred at the Malam Aliyu Na Malam Muhammadu Ghali Qur’anic School on Tuesday night, was confirmed by the Chairman of the Kaura Namoda Local Government Council, Alhaji Mannir Haidara.

Haidara stated that the fire raged for several hours, claiming the lives of 17 children and injuring another 17.

“All 17 victims have been buried in Kaura Namoda town this morning,” Haidara said, adding that the injured children are receiving urgent medical attention.

A committee has been formed to investigate the cause of the fire and assess the extent of the damage.

In his statement, Haidara prayed for the souls of the deceased children, asking Allah to grant them eternal peace and strength to their grieving families.
